Our collection of peanut balls, designed to support active labour and help your body progress birth naturally. A peanut ball is a peanut-shaped exercise ball used during labour to keep the pelvis open, encourage baby into the optimal position, and shorten the active phase of labour.
Peanut balls are particularly useful if you've had an epidural and are confined to bed, as the ball can be placed between your legs while lying on your side to maintain pelvic opening. Research shows that using a peanut ball during labour can reduce labour duration and lower the chance of needing a Caesarean delivery. Most NHS hospitals now keep peanut balls on the ward, but many mums prefer to bring their own.
