What size pyjamas does my toddler need?

Our kids pyjamas use UK age sizing from 2-3 years through to 7-8 years. Sizing is generally true to age but go by height if your child is on the taller or shorter side, since toddler size ranges within an age band can vary by 5-10cm. The bamboo fabric has slight stretch which gives a longer wear life than pure cotton equivalents.

Are bamboo pyjamas safer than cotton for toddlers?

Bamboo and cotton are both natural fibres, but bamboo has natural antibacterial and hypoallergenic properties that cotton doesn't. UK regulations require all children's sleepwear to meet flammability standards, which both pass. Bamboo's real advantage for toddlers is temperature regulation, breathability, and softer fibre structure that doesn't irritate sensitive skin or trigger eczema flare-ups.

What tog should toddler pyjamas be?

Pyjamas themselves don't have a tog rating — that applies to sleeping bags and duvets. For toddlers wearing pyjamas with a duvet, the Lullaby Trust recommends room temperatures of 16-20°C with a 2.5 tog duvet, or 1.0 tog duvet for warmer rooms. Our bamboo pyjamas are breathable enough to wear year-round, layering under or over depending on temperature.

At what age do toddlers move from sleeping bag to pyjamas?

Most families move from sleeping bag to pyjamas with a duvet between 18 months and 3 years, depending on whether the toddler can independently manage their bedding. The transition typically happens after the move to a toddler bed. Some toddlers wear pyjamas under a sleeping bag during the transition phase, which the Lullaby Trust considers safe as long as the bag is the right size.

How do I care for bamboo pyjamas?

Wash bamboo pyjamas at 30°C with similar colours. Tumble dry on low or hang to dry. Avoid fabric softeners which can coat bamboo fibres and reduce breathability. The fabric is naturally antibacterial so doesn't need high temperatures for odour control. Most BABYGO bamboo pyjamas soften further after the first few washes and shape gently to your child with wear.
