Once it is up, push firmly against the gate at both the top and the bottom. There should be no movement in the frame and no gap opening at either side. Pressure-fit gates loosen gradually with daily use, so check the tension weekly and re-tighten at the first sign of any give. Also check that both wall cups sit flat against solid surfaces rather than on skirting, plasterboard or a curved bannister spindle, since that is what a secure fit depends on.
It is a pressure-fit design suited to standard doorways and stairways, and it needs two flat, solid, parallel surfaces to push against. Measure your opening at the height the gate will sit before ordering. Skirting boards, curved bannister spindles and plasterboard walls all affect the fit, and a bannister usually needs an adapter to give the gate something flat to grip.

The important part is checking it regularly afterwards, because pressure-fit gates loosen over time with daily use.     So convenient and easy to install
