It is put together to cover a typical family home in one purchase, so you are not ordering six separate items and discovering the gaps afterwards.
For most homes, yes, with the caveat that a large kitchen alone can use most of the cupboard locks. The kit covers the standard hazards: cupboards, drawers, sharp furniture corners, slamming doors and the oven. It does not include a stair gate or window restrictors, which are the two things most homes need alongside it, so it is worth checking those separately if you have stairs or live above ground floor.
Yes, every piece fits with 3M™ adhesive tape, so there are no screws, no tools and no DIY skills needed. Screws are included as an optional extra for anyone who wants a permanent fixing. The adhesive route is what makes the kit suitable for rented homes, since it removes without lasting damage. Surfaces need to be clean, dry and smooth for the adhesive to hold properly.
An afternoon for a typical house, and considerably less if you tackle one room at a time. Two things make it go smoothly: use the placement stickers supplied to check alignment before you commit any adhesive, and give everything a full 24 hours to cure before testing it against a determined toddler. Working room by room rather than product by product is the quicker approach.
The components are made from ABS and PP plastic, chosen because they stay rigid rather than becoming brittle. Everything is designed to sit inside cupboards or flush against furniture so there is nothing a child can easily grip, pull or detach. Check periodically that adhesive fixings are still firm, particularly in kitchens and bathrooms where heat and steam are working against them.
