Naturally breathable and temperature regulating, the fabric keeps baby comfortable through chilly mornings and cosy evenings, worn on its own or layered under outfits.

The envelope neckline slips gently over baby's head and folds down over the shoulders, making changes quick and calm, even after the messiest moments.

It lets the bodysuit come off downwards rather than over your baby's head. The shoulders fold open so the whole thing slides down and away, which is exactly what you want during a nappy change. It also makes dressing a newborn considerably less stressful, since you are not posting a wobbly head through a narrow opening. A small design detail that parents notice immediately once they have used it.
Under. The bodysuit is the base layer next to the skin and the sleepsuit goes over the top. Layering this way means you can remove the outer layer if your baby gets warm without a full change of clothes. Long sleeves add warmth without bulk at the wrists, which matters in a cot where loose fabric is unhelpful. In warmer rooms many parents use a short sleeve bodysuit under the sleepsuit instead.

The bamboo brings softness and breathability, the cotton adds structure so the bodysuit holds its shape through repeated washing, and the elastane gives the stretch that makes dressing a wriggling baby possible. It is a different blend from our sleepsuits, which are 95% bamboo, because a base layer needs to survive a heavier wash rotation.
Around six per size. Bodysuits sit closest to the skin so they go through the wash as often as anything in the drawer, and nappy leaks reach the bodysuit before they reach anything else. Six gives you enough to cover a wash cycle without buying so many that your baby outgrows them unworn. Spreading your spending across two adjacent sizes usually beats stocking up heavily on one.
Wash at 30 degrees and keep them out of the tumble dryer. Heat is what degrades elastane and causes stretched necklines and bobbling. Wash with similar fabrics rather than alongside anything with zips or hooks, which catch and pull the knit. Skip fabric softener, which coats the fibres and reduces breathability. Treated this way they hold up well through a heavy rotation.

    Improved once fitted correctly

    I was unsure whether we really needed it, but it has proved its worth. Delivery was slower than expected, but it has been used regularly since arriving. It layers well without bunching under a sleepsuit.
