Short sleeve works year round as a base layer under a sleepsuit, and on its own as a full outfit in warm weather. Long sleeve is the better choice in winter or as a standalone top with leggings. Most parents find they reach for short sleeve more often overall, because it layers under everything without adding bulk at the wrists, which matters in a cot.
It lets the bodysuit come off downwards instead of over your baby's head. The shoulders fold open so the whole thing slides down and away, which is exactly what you want mid nappy change. It also makes dressing a newborn far less stressful, since you are not posting a wobbly head through a narrow opening, and it works just as well one-handed.
67% bamboo, 28% cotton and 5% elastane. The bamboo brings softness and breathability, the cotton gives structure so the bodysuit keeps its shape through a heavy wash rotation, and the elastane provides the stretch that makes dressing a wriggling baby possible at all. It is a different blend from our sleepsuits, which are 95% bamboo.
Go by height rather than age. Newborn covers 45 to 55cm and 0-3m covers 53 to 63cm, running to 18-24m at 78 to 86cm. Because a bodysuit is worn close to the skin as a base layer, getting the size right matters more than with outer layers. If your baby is between bands, size down so it sits properly under a sleepsuit.
Wash at 30 degrees on a low temperature and keep them out of the tumble dryer. Heat is what degrades elastane, and elastane is what keeps the neckline and cuffs in shape. Skip fabric softener, which coats the bamboo and reduces its breathability. Wash with similar fabrics rather than alongside zips or hooks, which catch and pull the knit.

    Improved once fitted correctly
