A peri bottle for rinsing instead of wiping after the birth
In the first days after the birth, wiping is the last thing you want to do. A peri bottle lets you rinse with warm water instead: fill it, turn it upside down and squeeze, and the angled spout points the water where it's needed without you twisting or reaching.
The bottle is soft, so you control the flow: squeeze gently for a light rinse or harder for a stronger spray.
It packs down small, so it goes in your hospital bag in its own travel bag.

What is a peri bottle for?
It's for rinsing with warm water when you use the toilet after the birth, instead of wiping. The water dilutes the urine as it passes, and a rinse afterwards leaves you clean without rubbing anything sore.
Do I need one after a C-section?
It's still worth having. There's bleeding to manage after a C-section too, and the bottle saves you reaching and twisting while your tummy's sore.
How do I use it?
Fill it with warm water, not hot. Use it while you're on the toilet, aiming from front to back, and again afterwards instead of wiping, then pat dry gently with a clean towel or tissue. Check with your midwife before adding anything to the water.
When should I pack it?
In your hospital bag. The first time you'll want it is within hours of the birth, not once you're home.
How do I keep it clean?
Rinse it inside and out with hot soapy water after each use and stand it upside down to air dry, so water doesn't sit in the spout.
