Maternity knicker sets for pregnancy and after the birth
What you want from knickers changes at the birth: low and stretchy under a bump beforehand, high and soft over a tender tummy afterwards. The Maternity Knicker Set gives you one pair of each in the same size, low-rise Under the Bump Knickers for pregnancy and high-waisted Postpartum Knickers for afterwards, with a waistband that sits above where a C-section incision usually is.
The Maternity Sleep Set and the Maternity Nursing Set pair our Under the Bump Knickers with a bra, the Nursing Sleep Bra for nights or the Maternity Bra, whose cups unclip for feeds. The Postpartum Knickers Twin Pack is two high-waisted pairs, so one can be in the wash.
All the knickers are soft Tencel™ Modal with a three-layer gusset. The knickers come up small, so go a size up, and since knickers can't be returned once they're opened, check the size guide before you order.
Questions, answered.
Do I need maternity or postpartum knickers?
Both, at different times. Low-rise maternity knickers sit under your bump through pregnancy, and high-waisted postpartum knickers take over from the day your baby arrives, for as long as you're bleeding or healing. The Maternity Knicker Set gives you one of each in the same size.
What size should I order?
Go one size up from your usual dress size before pregnancy, using the size guide: S is 6 to 10, M 10 to 14, L 14 to 18 and XL 18 to 22. They come up small, and after the birth you'll want the high-waisted pair roomy rather than snug. In the sets with a bra, one size covers both pieces, so check the bra guide as well.
Can I return them if they don't fit?
Not once they're opened. For hygiene reasons, knickers can't be returned or exchanged once the packaging is open, and that includes the sets with knickers in them. If an order arrives faulty, damaged or not what you ordered, contact us before sending anything back and we'll put it right.
How many pairs will I need?
More than usual after the birth, because you'll change often while you're bleeding, which can go on for two to six weeks. Five to seven pairs means the washing never becomes urgent.
Can the postpartum knickers replace maternity pads?
For many people, yes, once the heaviest days have passed. The gusset is made for postpartum bleeding and light bladder leaks, and in the first days you can wear a maternity pad with it as well.
