Why buy a twin pack?

Because compression socks are worn every day and need washing every day, so one pair means going without while they dry. A twin pack at £25 works out cheaper per pair than buying two singles and means you always have a clean pair ready in the morning, which matters because they work best put on before you get up.

What is the difference between Standard and Wide Calf?

Wide Calf has more room through the calf and a wider band under the knee, and it is the right choice if you have a larger calf measurement or if compression socks have dug in on you before. Standard suits most people. The compression itself is the same; it is the fit around the calf that differs.

What size should I choose?

Sizes run 2 to 5 and 6 to 9 by shoe size. Some customers find the fit snug, which is partly the nature of compression, but it should never pinch under the knee or leave deep marks. If you are on the boundary between the two size bands, take the larger.

When are they most useful?

Third trimester, long days on your feet, long flights or car journeys, and the first weeks after birth. Swelling tends to be worst late in the day and late in pregnancy. They are also worth packing in a hospital bag, since the postpartum period carries a higher clot risk, particularly after a caesarean or reduced mobility.

How long do they last?

A few months of daily wear before the compression begins to fade, which is normal for any compression garment rather than a fault. The clearest sign is that they become noticeably easier to pull on. Washing at 30 degrees and never tumble drying is what extends their life the most.
