How many do I need?
Count the corners at your child's head height rather than the furniture. A coffee table alone has four, and a TV unit and a hearth add more, so the 24 pack is the one to choose if you're doing more than one room.
Will they mark my furniture?
The 3M™ adhesive is made to come away without lasting damage on modern sealed finishes. On old or waxed wood, test one somewhere nobody will see and leave it a few days first. To take one off, warm it with a hairdryer and peel it away slowly.
How do I make them stay on?
Stick them onto a clean, dry surface and press the whole protector down, not just the middle, then give the adhesive 24 hours before little hands get at it. Check them now and then, and refit any that start to lift.
Are they noticeable?
They're clear, so you'll see them up close but not from across the room. They're less noticeable on dark wood than on pale surfaces, where the edge of the adhesive can catch the light.
How long should I keep them on?
Longer than you'd think. Toddlers and young children keep running into furniture for years, and many families leave them on until three or four.
