BABYGO® Window Restrictor
Open the window for air, but only as far as you choose
On a warm night you want the bedroom window open, but not so far that a child who's climbed onto the sill could lean out. This restrictor stops the window at a gap you choose, so the room gets air and the window opens no further.
It sticks to the frame with 3M™ VHB adhesive, so there's no drilling, which suits rented homes, and it goes on upright or sideways to suit how your window opens.
To open the window fully, press the buttons to release the arm. It's a double action, designed to be hard for small hands to work out.

How far will the window open?
As far as you set it. Choose the smallest gap that still gives you the air you want; for child safety in the UK, the usual guide is less than 100mm.
Does it need drilling?
No. Clean the frame well first, as UPVC and painted frames often carry a film from cleaning products, dry it, press the parts on and leave the adhesive 24 hours before you rely on it. If you'd rather screw it on, for example on a window that opens from the bottom, the smaller part has screw holes.
Will it fit my window?
It suits standard UPVC and wooden windows with a flat surface on both the frame and the opening part. Deep bevels, heavy textures or unusual opening mechanisms are the ones to check, so measure where you'll fit it and make sure both surfaces are flat and reachable with the window closed.
Can an adult open it quickly in an emergency?
Yes, the release is made for adult hands. Windows can be a way out in a fire, so make sure everyone in the house who might need to open that window knows how it works.
Will it keep a cat in?
Yes, if you set the gap narrow enough that your cat can't squeeze through. It's sturdy enough to take a cat leaning on the window, but check it holds before you leave the window open and go out.
