Up to 180ml, with a sturdy standing base so it stays upright while you fill it rather than needing a third hand. The pourable spout means transferring into a bottle afterwards is controlled rather than a guessing game. Fill to slightly below the maximum if you are freezing, because milk expands as it freezes.
Three things. Do not overfill, seal along the full width of the closure rather than just pressing the middle, and freeze them flat rather than standing up. Most leaks in any milk storage bag happen at the seal because it was closed at an angle, or at the seam because a full bag expanded in the freezer with nowhere to go.
Following NHS guidance, expressed milk keeps up to five days in a fridge at 4°C or below, up to two weeks in a freezer compartment inside a fridge, and up to six months in a separate freezer. Write the date on every bag as you fill it, because once several are stacked flat in a drawer they become impossible to tell apart.
