Helps With
A gentle seated upper body stretch that helps release tension through the chest, shoulders and arms — counteracting the rounded posture of feeding and baby-carrying.
Instructions
-
1
Sit Tall
Sit on the floor or your ball with your spine tall and shoulders relaxed.
-
2
Open Arms Wide
Extend both arms out to the sides at shoulder height.
-
3
Reach Back
Gently draw your arms back, opening your chest and squeezing your shoulder blades together.
-
4
Hold & Breathe
Hold the stretch and breathe deeply, feeling the openness across your chest.
-
5
Release & Repeat
Slowly release and repeat as feels comfortable throughout the day.
Tip
Do this after every feed or pump session — it's the simplest way to undo the shoulder-rolling-forward posture of new motherhood.
